The Breede River Valley runs inland between the Winelands and the Karoo, taking in Robertson, McGregor, Montagu, Ashton and Bonnievale. Wine and fruit country, where markets fill village halls and farm stalls on a Saturday morning. About two hours from Cape Town, so worth making a day of it.
