About This Market

Each spring, the Western Province Chinese Association opens its centre on Liesbeeck Avenue for a food fair that has become a fixture on the Cape Town calendar. The draw is the food: more than 40 authentic Chinese dishes, so it pays to arrive hungry and graze your way through.

Between plates, there are Chinese groceries to stock up on, cultural dance performances to catch and games to keep children busy. It’s a morning event, winding down by early afternoon, so earlier is better. Entry is free, and a free shuttle service runs on the day.
