About This Market

We are thrilled to announce the Cape Town Yarn Festival 2026!

From 2-3 May 2026 at Fish Hoek High School, this festival brings together the finest natural yarn establishments in South Africa. It’s a chance to celebrate fibre-craft culture with the best the South African yarn industry has to offer.

Visitors can browse a beautifully curated selection of yarns and fibre-craft tools, engage with other yarn enthusiasts and take part in a series of exciting workshops that cover a range of techniques – everything from knitting and crochet to weaving and stitching (you can even learn how to make your own yarn!).

You may bring your work in progress or knit on the African Expressions scarf in the queue. Wear your favourite hand-made garments/accessories and see what other festival goers have made!
There will also be food traders with delicious edibles on site to keep you fuelled for the day. One can also give back, by donating to one of the event-supported charities.
