As South Africa starts to feel the impact of the CoronaVirus pandemic, markets around the Cape are taking measures to protect the safety of traders and customers. Most are closing their doors (for now), some are choosing to stay open, but with strict safety and health protocols in place. And then there are those who have been able to go the innovative route of creating a virtual market, so that customers can still connect with creators – and buy their goods online.
Hard choices have had to be made – but we salute all those who have prioritised the health and safety of all concerned – together, we can help #flattenthecurve.
We have been posting information on social media regarding each market’s strategy, but are also working as fast as we can to update our market guide and calendar to reflect this information. Below you will find a WIP list of markets who have announced their COVID-19 strategies. We will update this as we get further information – please contact us if you have related news you would like to share.
